Our Approach to Learning
Our philosophy is inspired by and enriched by a range of research-based perspectives in early childhood education, including the work in Reggio-Emilia, Maria Montessori, and Lev Vygotsky to name a few. We see children as capable, creative thinkers who learn best through exploration, critical thinking, and connection to the natural world. Grounded in strong relationships and community, our preschool community offers a nurturing environment where nature plays an active role in children’s learning.
Our Programs
Parent & Me
Ages 3–24 months
A gentle introduction to our preschool community for children and their caregivers, focusing on sensory exploration and building bonds through shared discovery.
Blue Room
Ages 2–3 years
Encouraging early independence and social growth, the Blue Room provides a nurturing environment where children begin their love of learning and journey of creative expression.
Green Room
Ages 3–4 years
Children engage in deeper collaborative play and project-based learning, using their natural curiosity to investigate the world and express complex ideas.
Yellow Room
Ages 4–5 | Developmental TK
Our Transitional kindergarten room focuses on socio-emotional readiness, critical thinking, and literacy, preparing children for their next educational milestone.
Our S.T.E.A.M Program
S.T.E.A.M at MPS invites children to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on, play-based projects. In our classrooms, children build, experiment, question, and create, developing problem-solving skills and confidence while having fun. Our teachers guide inquiry with open-ended materials and real-world investigations, nurturing curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. This program also prepares them for the schools of tomorrow and the evolving world ahead!
